Showa Brand Biodegradable Nitrile Gloves are 4 mil thick, nitrile gloves that will biodegrade. Showa Brand Biodegradable Nitrile Gloves maintain the same properties as regular nitrile gloves and provide comfort, dexterity and protection for many applications.

These gloves are ambidextrous, powder-free, 100% nitrile gloves with excellent tensile strength. They are food safe approved and offer basic chemical protection. These gloves feature smooth tips, rolled cuffs and a second-skin fit and feel for comfort and dexterity.

How Does Biodegration Happen?
Regular nitrile gloves cannot attract enough (if any) microbial activity to begin breaking down the polymer’s molecular structure, thus leaving the process of reclamation to light, heat, mechanical stress and moisture.

An innovator in the marketplace, the Showa Biodegradable 6110PF has been engineered to jump start its own breakdown via the addition of organic materials to the glove substrate which accelerates the biodegradation of the nitrile in biologically active landfills. The organic additives make the 6110PF Glove attractive to microbial activity. Upon consuming the additive materials, microorganisms excrete enzymes that depolymerize the nitrile and allow it to be safely re-assimilated into the landfill. Basically, microorganisms consume, metabolise and break down special additive materials into three natural compounds – organic soil, methane and carbon dioxide.
